Message from the School President
Dear SCHA Community,
“The curriculum tells you “what”, not “how”. The “how” is the artistry in education.” – George Curos
Welcome to the South City Homes Academy and the 2022-23 academic year. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic the whole world is facing, the current school year is likewise beset with the setbacks and challenges of the “new normal” in education delivery. But in introspect, we can take these challenges, instead, as opportunities for empowerment in our life-long learning goal. In the new normal, our children are obliged to grow up to take more initiative in their own education and learning process. With the disappearance of the traditional classroom stage, teachers and educators have to innovate from being “sages on the stage” to designers and facilitators of learning. Parents will need to assume a more integral role in the required home-school collaboration, due to the shift to online and modular learning.
This pandemic is driving education into a new “how” in delivering its curriculum and SCHA commits to live up to this mission. We look to continue and enhance the quality educational services that we are able to provide for our students and families. The “new normal” may not be really “normal” at all, but our learning will not only continue, but it will thrive. We can’t wait to move on to the next phase of learning under Covid-19 and we know, we will continue to grow!
Our deepest gratitude to the parents for your continued trust, and we look forward to a highly collaborative school year ahead. We are a school where input is gathered, humor is appreciated, camaraderie is apparent, and decisions are made together.
We look forward to serving our school community and welcome your feedback at any time throughout the year. We invite you to contact our offices with questions, concerns, or ideas.
I am proud to be your President, especially during this time of great endeavor. May God keep us safe and be with us all!
Respectfully,
Enrico G. Manalo PhD
